Welcome to the Whitchurch Town and Parish Plan Website
The Whitchurch Town and Parish Plan is a community led plan which was launched in June 2011. It is based on a detailed survey of local opinion undertaken over a two year period. It shows what the people of Whitchurch like about living and working in the Town and the aspects they would like to see improved and developed over the next five to ten years. A full copy of the Plan, together with a Summary, can be accessed and downloaded from this website. Printed reference copies can be consulted in Whitchurch Library, The Heritage Centre and the Civic Centre.
The Action Plan which is included in the overall Plan provides a tool for delivery. It summarises all the Action Points found in the main document and the actions to be taken in order to achieve the desired improvements.
To ensure that the Plan is fully implemented in accordance with the aspirations of the community, a Whitchurch Town Plan Implementation Committee [PIC] has been established to oversee and coordinate actions. This has been supported by the Town Council under the leadership of the Mayor, together with Shropshire Council, The Constitution and membership of this Committee cwill be added to this web site..
The Action Plan can only be successfully delivered if it has the support and involvement of the whole community. Each member of the Plan Implementation Committee is therefore taking on the responsibility of leading a specific aspect of the Plan and bringing together members of the community to work towards specific identified goals.
It is the intention of the Plan Implementation Committee that the community of Whitchurch should be as well informed as possible about the progress being made on its Plan and how they can become involved. This website is one of the methods of communication by which this can be achieved.
By checking this website regularly, users will be able to see the progress being made. The minutes of PIC meetings will be published following meetings. The Progress matrix of the Plan will be regularly updated so the actions taken can be tracked.
The website also provides an opportunity for two way communication and we welcome your ideas, views and news.
